Enerjisa Başkent Elektrik Perakende Satış A.Ş. was founded, due to the legal obligation that distribution and retail activities of power distribution companies should be separated as from January 1, 2013, pursuant to article 39 of Communique on Items Subject to Regulation and Principles Related to Reporting as part of the Revenue and Tariff Regulation in the Electricity Market; and article 3 of the “former” Electricity Market Regulation no. 4628. The separation process was carried out in line with the “Procedures and Principles regarding the Legal Separation of Distribution and Retail Activities” and other related legislation approved by Energy Market Regulatory Authority. Significant investments are made to improve the customer services, in particular, and upgrade the existing systems of Enerjisa Başkent Elektrik Perakende Satış A.Ş., which serves over 3.8 million customers including houses and businesses in the Başkent Region (Ankara, Kırıkkale, Çankırı, Kastamonu, Karabük, Bartın, Zonguldak).
Enerjisa Başkent Elektrik Perakende Satış A.Ş. was assigned to provide electricity retail services to non-eligible consumers, eligible consumers who do not claim their rights and eligible consumers as the last resource suppliers within the Başkent Distribution Region in return for the retail tariff subject to regulation by Energy Market Regulatory Authority. Furthermore, the company supplies electric energy to eligible consumers in the region, conditions of which are completely subject to the market conditions, through bilateral agreements.
