TSKB and Toroslar EDAŞ, one of the electricity distribution companies of Enerjisa Enerji, signed a loan agreement in TL amount corresponding to US$100,000,000 to strengthen the energy infrastructure in the regions affected by the earthquake. The funds will be used to develop and modernize the electricity distribution grid of Toroslar EDAŞ in the region.
Sustaining its efforts to support recovery of the regions affected by the earthquake following the devastating earthquakes occurred on February 6, 2023 with Kahramanmaraş as the epicenter, TSKB (Industrial Development Bank of Türkiye) signed a long-term investment loan agreement in TL amount corresponding to US$100,000,000 with Toroslar Elektrik Dağıtım A.Ş. (Toroslar EDAŞ) which provides electricity distribution services in 6 cities in the earthquake region (Adana, Osmaniye, Hatay, Mersin, Kilis and Gaziantep) to strengthen the energy infrastructure in the region. With these provided funds, Toroslar EDAŞ, Enerjisa’s electricity distribution company, will conduct works for development and modernization of the electricity distribution grid in the region.
Commenting on the agreement signed on October 18, 2024, Murat Bilgiç, Managing Director at TSKB, stated; “At TSKB, we put efforts to support clean energy investments which are among the strategic areas in our country’s sustainable development journey alongside the diverse efforts we have been sustaining since the first day of the earthquake to help the region to recover. We signed a loan agreement in TL amount corresponding to US$100,000,000 with Toroslar EDAŞ to be used in infrastructure investments of the company in the fourth regulatory period in 2024. This agreement has great significance in terms of redevelopment of the cities which suffered great damage due to the earthquake in terms of infrastructure based on the principles of sustainable energy infrastructure reconstruction, reducing energy losses. I hope this valuable collaboration which will also contribute to our national energy goals will be auspicious both for our region and our country.”
Emphasizing that they did not take a step back from the reconstruction process in the region with 4,500 employees working in the region as an earthquake survivor company, Murat Pınar, CEO of Enerjisa Enerji, stated; “At Enerjisa Enerji, we assume our responsibilities to prepare the regions we operate in for electricity distribution and retail services for a better future. Our Toroslar EDAŞ company continues to develop all the solutions necessary to provide uninterrupted energy service in the region as we were doing before the earthquake. We carry out investments through efficient resource utilization and we put all our efforts into the reconstruction of the region. With the TL loan agreement corresponding to US$100,000,000 we signed with TSKB, our purpose is to develop and modernize the electricity distribution infrastructure in the region. This collaboration will facilitate us to contribute to the long-term development of the region. We carried out investments beyond the commitments we made in all our regions including the earthquake region for which we provide services. And we will continue to play our part and to create a difference for a better future.”
