TL 15 Billion Investment of Enerjisa Enerji

Enerjisa Enerji to direct a significant portion of its TL 15 billion investment for 2023 to the Taurus region affected by the earthquake.

Since the first day of the earthquake, Enerjisa Enerji allocates TL 370 million, apart from the additional investments in the region, in order to re-activate the power grid that has suffered great damage and to meet the needs of the people in the region. The investment is expected to increase to approximately TL 1 billion in the next three months.

Pioneering the energy transformation in Turkey, Enerjisa Enerji, the leading electricity distribution, retail and customer solutions company in Turkey, continues its efforts relentlessly to solve the power failures experienced following the earthquakes that affected many cities. Enerjisa Enerji supplied energy to the region in a short period of time and re-launched its normal operations in four of the five cities affected by the earthquakes following the failures experienced due to the successive earthquakes.

Energy supply was re-launched to operate as usual via the distribution grids and generators in Adana, Gaziantep, Kilis and Osmaniye. In Hatay, electricity was supplied to all critical locations including hospitals, the airport, tent cities, base stations, and street lighting.

Enerjisa Enerji employees and their families are severely affected by the earthquakes

Five of the 11 cities affected by the earthquake are located in the area of operation of Toroslar EDAŞ, one of the Distribution Companies, and the retail company of Enerjisa Enerji. 4,507 Enerjisa Enerji employees and their families were severely affected by the earthquakes occurred on February 6 and after. 31 employees were rescued from the ruins, 69 employees lost their first-degree relatives, while the houses of 429 employees collapsed or were severely damaged.

15 employees of Enerjisa Enerji lost their lives in the region. Although in grief, Enerjisa Enerji continues to sustain its operations in the field with a team of 3,147 employees in total, consisting of regional employees, employees from Başkent EDAŞ, Ayedaş and other distribution regions. Our employees have 3,282 equipped vehicles in the field and placed additional 2,472 generators at critical locations. Moreover, we have re-launched eight of the 12 Enerjisa Customer Service Centers and 27 of the 34 Enerjisa Transaction Centers in the disaster area to sustain our customer services. Despite all the difficulties experienced, everyone working in our company, including Enerjisa Enerji senior management, employees of Ayedaş and Başkent head offices, continues to endeavor in the field to help the region.

Temporary means of accommodation and hot meals for employees and their families who lost their homes in the disaster are also being provided at the company facilities. A total of 660 people is accommodating in the containers and tents built by Enerjisa.

TL 15 billion investment planned

Mentioning that they would speed up investments to heal the wounds of the earthquake, Murat Pınar, CEO of Enerjisa Enerji, stated, “We are a company that adopts the culture of giving back what we get from these lands. Hence, we allocated a resource of TL 370 million in order to re-activate the electricity grid, which has suffered great damage, and to meet the needs of the people in the region, since the first day of the earthquake. From now on, we will sustain our support for the recovery of the electricity grid and the people in the region. To this end, we are raising our investments to TL 15 billion for 2023, which is the triple the amount of our investments compared to the previous year. We will transfer a significant portion of this investment to the Taurus region, which is severely affected by the earthquake, for grid modernization, technology and smart grid practices.” Emphasizing the contribution of the region to the country's economy, Murat Pınar also remarked that Enerjisa Enerji provided significant employment opportunities in the Taurus region while also serving the people, and that the company would not only provide accommodation, but also invest in the human resources via creating new areas of operations in the region in terms of establishing training centers for qualified technical training and new energy technologies.
