We are working for a world where we are equal everywhere, in life, in art, in politics, by getting rid of social roles. This is mostly the responsibility of men because we are the ones who established this system. Lullabies constitute our cultural values which have been weaved just like carpets, carrying traces of local cultures and families. It is part of our responsibility to keep these values alive.”

Mentioning that the sound and language of lullabies are shared, Haydar Ergülen emphasized that lullabies sung in Türkiye in various languages constitute a unique richness.

Emphasizing the difference of power dynamics in every home, Gökhan Özoğuz stated that the most important thing fathers should do is to treat women with great respect.

“Equality starts in the family; a father can also raise children, and sing lullabies”

Introducing the album, Ismail Baydar, Chief Editor at Dişi Business Platform stated: “We, at Artı Production, believe that gender equality should be ensured for a sustainable society and world, and we support more visibility for women in social and business life. The project was initially discussed in the Equality Days Summit, organized on June 7-8 this year. This project that we have developed with the YANINDAYIZ Foundation and Enerjisa says “Equality starts in the family and a father can also raise children and sing lullabies.” We will donate all the revenue of this album to Mor Çatı Foundation. Thus, we will be able to raise awareness of women and children. I would like to thank all singers and songwriters who contributed to this project once again.”

“We say to our fathers: NOT WITHOUT YOU”

Stating that Enerjisa attaches significance to hearing diverse voices in social life and the business world’ for "a better future" and to including all individuals in its processes by adopting an egalitarian approach, Ebru Taşcıoğlu, Head of Sustainability and Corporate Capabilities at Enerjisa Enerji, added “Enerjisa Enerji is a pioneering company in its sector with a multiplier effect in terms of triggering transformation. We wanted to be involved in this project in frame of our responsibility of inspiring the industry through the stories we tell with our ecosystem. This project enables us to attach significance to changing these stereotype gender role assumptions. We are initiating the change in terms of content, message and the role of singing lullabies assumed for women. The change that begins with the family and the father will also play a crucial role in shaping the future of children. Thus, we will endeavor to change certain stereotypes and try to reach a more egalitarian future with new generations. The Equality Lullabies project encourages men in an essential and special area on the path to change and includes them in this change as partners. We are calling out to our fathers and would like to say, 'Not Without You'."

“It will be the voice of equality and lullaby to babies”

Selen Okay Akçalı, Chair at Yanındayız Foundation also commented on the project as follows: “Opinion leaders who inspire the society owning the gender equality issue provides the most significant contribution in terms of raising awareness. This meaningful project represents a crucial step towards change by challenging the gender roles which have taken root in the society. The lyrics of our poets, the voices of our singers will be the voice of equality and lullabies to babies. They will remind us that being a parent involves being a father as much as being a mother. At Yanındayız Foundation, we are more than happy to be involved in ‘Equality Lullabies’ project.”
