TEMSA coaches to be manufactured with the solar energy solution of Enerjisa Enerji

Enerjisa Enerji sustains its efforts to achieve efficiency and saving in energy consumption, as well as minimizing its carbon emissions via its practices carried out as part of ‘Energy of My Business’. Accordingly, the Rooftop Solar Power Plant Project, which has an installed capacity of 850 kWp and which was built by Enerjisa Enerji at the coach factory of TEMSA in Adana, will generate 1,194 MWh energy per annum and will prevent approximately 774 tons of carbon emissions with green energy equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of 398 households.
Enerjisa Enerji, the leading energy company pioneering the energy transformation in Turkey, and TEMSA, one of the leading global bus, midibus and light truck manufacturers, which operates under the umbrella of Sabancı Holding-PPF Group (Skoda Transportation) partnership, joined forces. Enerjisa Enerji, which gradually implements sustainable and renewable energy solutions, launches a new Solar Power Plant project as part of Energy of My Business practices with TEMSA, one of the leading global motor vehicle manufacturers.

As part of the collaboration, 1,890 pcs. of solar panels were installed on the roof of TEMSA's bus factory in Adana; thus, a significant portion of the energy required for the manufacturing processes of vehicles will be supplied from renewable energy. Thanks to the project, which will set an inspiring example in the industry for on-site production, one of the principles of sustainability, 1,194 MWh of electricity will be generated, which is equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of approximately 398 households. The electricity generated will meet 11 percent of the entire energy consumption; hence, the project will prevent 774 tons of carbon emissions.

The Rooftop Solar Power Plant Project, which has been launched as part of the collaboration, will enable efficiency and saving in the consumption of energy, as energy is one of the foremost expenses of the businesses, and contribute to the sustainability goals of TEMSA.

Enerjisa Enerji acts as a bridge between the customers and renewable energy technologies.

Murat Pınar, CEO at Enerjisa Enerji, stated that the purpose of the practices carried out as part of Energy of My Business was to contribute to the sustainability goals of the customers as well as providing energy and cost savings, and explained as follows: “The climate crisis is a global material issue to be considered both by the public and private sectors. We, an energy company, are aware of our responsibilities and act as a bridge for our customers to access renewable energy technologies. On the other hand, we save energy and contribute to clean energy generation via the Energy of My Business practices. It is obvious that energy is the top item in the foreign trade deficit of Turkey, and this can be overcome by increasing energy generation in Turkey. Hence, we share our know-how and experiences with our customers who would like to carry on with sustainable and green energy solutions.

The project that we have commissioned increased our total installed capacity to approximately 24.1 MWp. Thus, TEMSA contributed to our goal by establishing a collaboration with us on the path we set out for 'A Better Future'. We identified all the requirements of our customer by carrying out site surveys and offered them a turnkey project, entirely customized for TEMSA. We, at Enerjisa Enerji, will also carry out the 10-year maintenance of the facility as part of our energy performance model. This project will meet 11 percent of the annual energy consumption of the factory; hence, we will be one step closer to our goal of preventing 39,000 tons of carbon emissions and the use of 5.15 million m3 of natural gas, thanks to the solutions provided via Energy of My Business practices, which we launched in 2022 and will be implemented by the end of 2023. I would like to thank everyone involved in the project.”

Tolga Kaan Doğancıoğlu, CEO at TEMSA, underlined that they place sustainability to the core of all their operations and continued as follows:

“At TEMSA, we have the goal to carry out our manufacturing operations without compromising the needs of future generations or causing environmental pollution. We carry out surveys on implementing the environmentally friendly technologies and saving measures regarding the consumption of energy and natural resources. In 2025, we have the goal to have 50 percent of the vehicles we sell in the city bus segment to run on alternative fuel. While we place sustainability to the core of all our operations, we attach importance that the energy we consume in manufacturing is clean energy. Hence, we have carefully reviewed the Energy of My Business projects of Enerjisa Enerji, and we are glad to generate reliable and clean energy as well as contributing to the sustainability goals of our company and our country thanks to this collaboration.”
