In collaboration with Teknosa and Enerjisa Enerji we initiate clean energy generation in Adana
Thanks to the solar power plant installed in line with the principles of Energy Performance Model, Teknosa will generate its own electricity and will become a role model in its sector in energy saving. 320 panels installed on the rooftop of Adana Sabancı Business Centre will generate 174,931 kWh electricity per year, which is equivalent to the annual consumption of approximately 58 households. Thanks to the project, 94 tonnes of CO₂ emission will be avoided.
As part of the Energy Performance Model, the initial investment as well as maintenance works and operation of the power plant will also be financed by Enerjisa Enerji throughout the contract period.
We consider contributing to the goal of a greener world while growing our business with sustainable products and services as our core responsibility.
Regarding the project carried out with Teknosa, Murat Pınar, CEO of Enerjisa Enerji A.Ş., stated, “Today, energy is one of the highly critical sectors for a sustainable world, and the energy world is re-shaped by innovative and environmentally-friendly solutions. At Enerjisa, we have guided ourselves with the concepts of energy efficiency, savings, mitigation of carbon emissions and sustainability in all the projects we carry out with innovative products under the umbrella of Energy of My Business, in line with our vision to lead this transformation. When we take into account the major projects we carried out in accordance with this vision, we consider contributing to the goal of a smarter and greener future while growing our business with sustainable products and services as our core responsibility. Thanks to our innovative products, we reduce the energy efficiency investment costs of our customers; hence, enable our customers to also save on their investments. We are also very glad to take our collaboration with Teknosa, which we initiated last year with LED conversion projects, one step further with the Solar Power Plant (SPP)”.
We will continue to create value for our employees, stakeholders and people
Stating that they took pioneering steps in the sector in line with the Sabancı Group's mission of being a pioneer and an example in sustainability, Sitare Sezgin, CEO of Teknosa, remarked: “As a purpose-oriented company, our roadmap is based on sustainability. We assess our works and investments in terms of their contribution to the environment and people. In terms of environment, we focus on the efficient use of natural resources, energy efficiency, renewable energy, and contribution to the circular economy. Since approximately 80% of our emissions originate from electricity consumption, we attach priority to reducing our electricity consumption and consuming green energy. Hence, we are pleased to begin generating electricity via the solar power plant at Adana Sabancı Business Centre in partnership with Enerjisa in order to increase our consumption of green energy. Besides this project, we will supply electrical energy from renewable resources at 80 campuses of our company, including our stores that are Enerjisa subscribers, as part of our partnership with Enerjisa. This step will enable us to supply 38% of our total consumption from renewable sources, according to the energy consumption estimates for 2022. We will continue to create more value for our employees, stakeholders and people.”
