
From A Better Me to A Better Future: Well-Being Focused Collaboration by Enerjisa Enerji and Teachers Network
The Teachers Well-Being Summit, organized as part of the Worthy of Teachers project, which was realized by the collaboration of Enerjisa Enerji and Teachers Network, provided an inspiring platform for fostering solidarity, promoting a fulfilling life, and advocating for inclusive education, with an emphasis on the personal and professional well-being of educators. In the ‘Worthy of Teachers’ project, Enerjisa Enerji focuses on the well-being of teachers with a vision of ‘from a better me to a better future’.
Türkiye’s leading company in electricity distribution, retail sales, customer solutions and e-mobility industry, which conducts its sustainability projects with the vision of ‘A Beter Future For All’, Enerjisa, in collaboration with The Teachers Network to carry out the Worthy of Teachers project, held the Teachers Well-Being Summit in Istanbul with the participation of 250 teachers.
The summit addressed the personal and professional well-being of educators, covering a range of topics including individual well-being, the school environment, the strength of community, and the sharing of positive examples. Throughout the discussions, panels, practical sessions, and sharing opportunities, the concept of well-being was not only articulated but also explored in terms of how to facilitate its realization. Attended by the executives of Enerjisa Enerji, the event underlined the significance of ongoing collaboration and learning alongside teachers to foster their personal and professional development for a better future.
A well-being touch to the heart of education: Over 200 hours of workshops for more than 300 teachers
So far, more than 300 teachers has come together as part of the Worthy of Teachers project, which was launched by the collaboration of Enerjisa Enerji and the Teachers Network. During the workshops and events, which totals more than 200 hours, many themes were covered from digital education technologies, well-being, inclusive education to gender equality, psychodrama, and post-earthquake solidarity. Assistance was offered to educators to discuss the challenges they face, collaborate on solutions, and draw upon various disciplines for empowerment. This approach contributed to their professional development and personal well-being.
Opening speeches were made by Göktürk Demirel, Director of Communications at Enerjisa Enerji, Nevgül Bilsel Safkan, Managing Director at Sabancı Foundation, and Irmak Akıncı, Co-General Coordinator at Teachers Network, at the all-day-long event, which continued following a program designed for teachers.
Taşcıoğlu: ‘A better future starts with the well-being of educators.’
Indicating that sustainability approach of Enerjisa Enerji is based not only on an environmental and economic vision, but also on a strong social impact vision, Ebru Taşcıoğlu, Enerjisa Enerji’s Head of Sustainability and Corporate Competencies Department, stated, “We consider sustainability not merely as the effective utilization of resources, but also as the establishment of circumstances that can unlock the potential of both individuals and the community. Irmak Akıncı Canbaz: Well-being of teachers creates a significant difference in education.
Expressing that well-being of teachers is indispensable for an equal, inclusive, high-quality education, Irmak Akıncı Canbaz, Co-General Coordinator at Teachers Network, stated; “We have seen throughout the journey of the Teachers Network of nearly 10 years that well-being of teachers creates a significant difference in education as they are the most important component in education. We believe that the extent to which we can achieve the essential transformation for a robust education system is directly linked to the growing number of teachers who feel secure, empowered, and connected within a supportive community. Therefore, it is very critical for us to talk with wider communities about the well-being of teachers and raise our voice concerning its significance.
