Evaluation Of The Year 2009
Selahattin Hakman, Sabancı Holding Energy Group President, Fuat Öksüz, CFO of Enerjisa Power Generation Company and Yetik K. Mert, CEO of Başkent EDAŞ gathered with journalists in January to share the developments regarding the energy sector in the world and Turkey during 2009, and Energy Group’s goals.
Enerjisa Group, while aiming to become the leader of electricity sector in Turkey, continued its investments with determination in 2009, which include expanding the generation portfolio in line with its goals for 2015.
Generation and distribution investments of Enerjisa, the company planning to grow in a vertical integrated structure
At the end of 2009, projects of Arkun Dam and HEPP with 236 MW installed capacity at Erzurum and Doğançay Weir and HEPP with 49 MW installed capacity at Adana are added to Enerjisa’s generation portfolio. Arkun HEPP, which is targeted to be put into operation by 2014, is one of the ten largest projects located on Çoruh River. Thus, with its projects that are operating, under construction, and of which the engineering works are in process, the portfolio of Enerjisa Power Generation Company has reached up to 3200 MW. In addition to this portfolio, projects with a total of 1070 MW installed capacity are at the stage of license application.
For the purpose of contributing to the solution of Turkey’s problem concerning security of electricity supply as earliest as possible, Phase-1 projects with a total capacity of 1950 MW and Bandırma Natural Gas Combined Cycle Power Plant with 920 MW installed capacity, will be finalized till the end of 2012. During 2009, in this direction, new construction agreements are signed regarding both hydroelectric projects and wind projects.
