Maintaining its leading position in the industry since its establishment with the goal to increase the popularity of electric vehicles and to encourage fast-charging station investments in Turkey, Eşarj, a subsidiary of Enerjisa Enerji, the leading electricity distribution, retail and customer solutions company in Turkey that pioneers the energy transformation in the country with the vision of a better future for all, is the first company with the highest number of fast-charging stations in Turkey. Continuously expanding its charging network nationwide, Eşarj has been the first player in the industry to operate charging stations since 2009.

Thanks to its investments in the EV charging station network in Turkey, Eşarj offers EV drivers the facilities for fast-charging and continues to expand its area of influence by entering into new agreements with the players in its ecosystem in order to maximize the customer experience. Eşarj builds charging stations particularly near shopping malls, hotels, recreational areas, fuel stations and restaurants to let its customers rest and enjoy their time while recharging their EVs.

Targeting at least 1 DC fast-charging station in 81 provinces by the end of 2023

Operating a total of 546 charging stations, including 383 fast-charging (DC) and 163 AC stations, in 57 cities, Eşarj maintains its position as the industry leader in Turkey with its largest EV charging station network in terms of installed capacity with the highest number of fast-charging stations. Eşarj, which has the highest number of fast-charging station network in Turkey, directs more than 90 percent of its new investments to DC fast-charging stations. While DC fast-charging stations can reach 80 percent charging level in 30 minutes, AC charging stations can achieve the same charging level in about 6-7 hours. Hence, DC charging stations stand out with their superior performance in saving time. Eşarj continues its efforts to establish a total of 1000 stations with the goal to have at least 1 DC charging station in 81 provinces by the end of 2023.

We have guided Eşarj to become the first company in Turkey with the largest fast-charging station network.

Mentioning that EV charging station investments reflect the confidence of the country in the potential of the industry, Murat Pınar, Chairperson of Eşarj and CEO of Enerjisa Enerji, stated: “We, at Enerjisa Enerji, are offering an essential service that carries more than 21.5 million people in 3 regions and 14 cities to the future and prosperity. Thanks to our experiences gained in this journey with Enerjisa Enerji, we have guided Eşarj, our subsidiary, to become the first e-mobility company in Turkey with the highest number of fast EV charging stations. EV charging stations are the most significant link in the EV value chain. Because, our customers cannot help but wonder how they will charge their vehicles as much as the range of EVs. Our fast-charging stations, the number of which continuously increases, enabled us to become empowered and contribute to the EV experience of our customers. We consider the fact that we have reached half a million recharges with Eşarj as of today, as an indicator of the trust our customers have in us.

We are aware how valuable the time spent at the stations is for EV drivers. We, at Eşarj, focus on the efficient use of time; and, we prioritize DC charging stations, attach significance to locating our charging stations in areas where our customers may spend more time or in areas where they may enjoy their time during charging. At Eşarj, our core purpose is to provide our customers a special experience at the nearest and popular locations without the requirement to drive their vehicles to a certain point for charging.”

Eşarj stands out as the first charging operator in Turkey, the first charging operator certified with renewable energy (IREC, YEK-G), the first company with DC charging stations and the first charging operator having contracts with EV brands. Furthermore, 20 DC stations launched with the opening of Istanbul Airport, which was the largest charging project in Turkey and a first in the world, provide uninterrupted service 24/7. The charging station at the airport is the largest, active charging area in Turkey with a total power of 1 MW.
