Conducted various projects focused on efficiency since 2023 in line with the vision of ‘A better future for all’, Enerjisa Enerji organized the first of the “A Better Future Meetings” in collaboration with Gaziantep Chamber of Commerce and IDEMA.

The event that guides the efficiency and digital transformation journey of SMEs in Gaziantep hosted a wide array of discussions including economic efficiency, effective communication, etc. Innovative digital solutions for SMEs were promoted in the event; while also, “Data Analytics Report Sheet for SMEs,” prepared by FutureBright research company, disclosed to the public for the first time.
“A Better Future” Platform was established in 2023 by Enerjisa Enerji with the purpose of contributing to the financial efficiency in Türkiye. The platform unites diverse stakeholders from the public sector, academia, the business community, international organizations, civil society, and artistic circles to facilitate the development of data-driven decision-making mechanisms for businesses, while also striving to ensure a smarter and greener world for future generations. As the sole private sector stakeholder of the platform, Enerjisa Enerji is the leader of this multi-stakeholder initiative.

Enerjisa Enerji has been carrying on its efficiency-oriented projects since the launch of the platform in July 2023. ‘Türkiye Efficiency Survey Report’ and ‘Türkiye Efficiency Map,’ which present the current efficiency levels of businesses nationwide, were published as the first concrete outputs of the platform.

First stop for A Better Future Meetings: Gaziantep

A Better Future Platform, under the leadership of Enerjisa Enerji, initiated its local meetings with the purpose of contributing to the efficiency of businesses. At the first meeting, public, academy, civil society, university students, and representatives of SMEs came together for a shared vision with over 200 participants. During the event, digital tools to increase energy-related and operational efficiency of SMEs, improvement suggestions and free training opportunities were shared with the participants as the tangible benefits of the platform.

Various experts in the field talked about their experiences and opinions on current regulation developments related to economic efficiency practices of businesses, effective communication methods, and energy efficiency. Thanks to this, businesses in attendance were afforded the chance to acquire the necessary expertise for a transformation aimed at enhancing efficiency, along with motivating examples.

One of the featuring outputs in the event was the presentation of “Data Analytics Report Sheet for SMEs.” This extensive report prepared by FutureBright offers important insights into businesses by presenting the current state of SMEs in terms of data usage and their areas of improvement.

TAŞCIOĞLU: “Achieving sustainable efficiency requires a transformation driven by data.”

Making the opening speech during the event on behalf of Enerjisa Enerji, Ebru Taşcıoğlu, Head of Sustainability and Corporate Competencies of Enerjisa Enerji, emphasized the vision of the event, stating;

“At Enerjisa Enerji, we created this platform to align with our goal of fostering a better future for all, prioritizing supporting SMEs in enhancing their efficiency and acquiring data-driven decision-making skills. Because we know that the key facilitator of a total economic development is efficiency - and achieving this efficiency requires a transformation driven by data.

The 'Efficiency and Data Analytics Report Sheet for SMEs', which we unveiled to the public for the first time at this meeting, indicates that the practice of employing digital tools has not yet been fully assimilated into the corporate culture of businesses, even though these tools have been utilized for around 6 years. Only 14% of SMEs have acquired data analytics literacy while 90% of businesses still use basic tools such as Excel for data management. This picture shows that the transformation has started but it has not taken root yet. And this is the reason that the joint action of public, private sector, academy, and civil society is critical in disseminating this cultural transformation. We experienced a powerful example of this joint action in Gaziantep. We would like to thank all SMEs and our stakeholders who accompany us in this journey.”

YILDIRIM: “I whole-heartedly believe that this vision which will rise from Gaziantep will inspire all of Türkiye.”

At the opening speech of the event, Tuncay Yıldırım, Chair of Gaziantep Chamber of Commerce, indicated that the key to growth is not consuming resources, but managing them in smart ways, stating; “Energy efficiency, digital tools, and data analytics describe the production model of the future. Now, the key to growth is not consuming resources, but managing them in smart ways... However, I believe businesses in Gaziantep are ready for the change. As long as we shoulder the responsibility together. If we stand shoulder to shoulder as public, private sector, academy, and civil society, we can foster a more efficient, more just, and more sustainable Türkiye. I whole-heartedly believe that this vision which will rise from Gaziantep will inspire all of Türkiye.”

Highlighting that Gaziantep has been a city adept at both production and sharing its output with the global community for more than a century, Yıldırım further expressed a desire to elevate this cultural legacy to a new level, stating;

“It is time to move towards a more intelligent, efficient, and sustainable production model... Because currently, the future is being shaped not just by capital! What shapes the future is information, data, and collaboration... We can only stay strong by transforming information into data, data into awareness, and awareness into action. The ‘A Better Future Platform,’ which enabled us to be here today, is a notable example of this very approach. In the past, we worked together with this valuable platform, organized under the leadership of Enerjisa with the collaboration of IDEAMA. We shared their dreams of ‘A Better Future for All!’ I would like to thank all our stakeholders for this meaningful collaboration.”
