Enerjisa Enerji granted the Bonds & Loans Award
Focusing on human and technology and developing projects to contribute to a smarter and greener world, Enerjisa Enerji, the leading electricity distribution, retail, customer solutions and e-mobility company in Türkiye, has won the ‘Local Currency Bond Deal of the Year Award’ at the Bonds, Loans & ESG Capital Markets CEE, CIS & Türkiye Awards 2023, which are organized by GFC Media Group and considered as one of the most prestigious awards in Turkish capital markets and the financial sector.
At the 2023 Turkey Bonds & Loans Awards, which are described as the Oscars of the financial sector and attended by more than 250 financial institutions, investment funds, law, consultancy and private sector representatives from Turkey and abroad, Enerjisa Enerji was recognized as Turkey's largest company outside the financial sector in July 2023. It won the award with its two-year bond issue worth 3.1 billion TL.
Highlighting the key role of the such financing deals for the growth of both energy industry and other infrastructure investments in Turkiye, Dr. Philipp Ulbrich, CFO at Enerjisa Enerji, stated: “We, at Enerjisa Enerji, are extremely proud to have been granted this award from a prestigious jury recognizing our efforts to finance all necessary investments in very demanding year characterized by tight financial markets and major crisis situations. Especially the tragic earthquake requested substantial and immediate investments by our distribution company in Toroslar, that we were able to carry out with not delay also due to our strong partnerships in the financial sector. Enerjisa Enerji will continue to put efforts into strengthening further the financial markets in Turkiye by being a major bond issuer with a strong balance sheet.”
More than 250 entrants
There were more than 250 applications to this year in the Bonds, Loans& ESG Capital Markets CEE, CIS & Türkiye Awards, which exists since 2014. Corporate and financial companies as well as exporting firms and investors who made creative and groundbreaking contracts in Türkiye have been evaluated. through an extensive selection process considering a number of key criteria, including their financial inclusion, structures, high-quality applications, and innovative organizational constructs.
