3 International Awards to Enerjisa Enerji in the Excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility

Having a particular focus on sustainability in its business strategy, Enerjisa Enerji, the leading electricity distribution and retail sales company in Turkey, was granted 3 awards at the Communitas Awards, an international award programme in which projects with the highest sensitivity in social responsibility compete, in the Ethics and Environmental Responsibility branch of the "Excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility" category, and became the company that received the highest number of awards in Turkey.

Launched with the support of Enerjisa Enerji, UNDP and Sabancı University partnership, the Centre for Tourism Practices Based on Sustainable Energy (SENTRUM) continues to attract international attention in terms of social responsibility. Thanks to SENTRUM project, Enerjisa Enerji was granted two awards at the Communitas Awards in the Ethics and Environmental Responsibility branch of the "Excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility" category; and the project was selected to be the Leading and Green Initiative project.

Another project that Enerjisa Enerji was granted an award at the Communitas Awards was the “KOZALAK” project. On the other hand, the “KOZALAK” project of Enerjisa Enerji, which was launched as part of Sabancı Republic Mobilization, was granted an award at the Communitas Awards in Sustainability in the Ethics and Environmental Responsibility branch of the "Excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility" category.

Organized by the international Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP) for 12 consecutive years, the Communitas Awards is listed among the most prestigious international award programmes in terms of Public Service and Social Responsibility.

Stating that they had recently reviewed the Sustainability strategy of Enerjisa and transformed it into a more integrated structure, Ebru Taşcıoğlu, Head of Sustainability and Corporate Capabilities at Enerjisa Enerji, remarked; “The concept of sustainability evolves every day, and therefore, it should be followed up closely. At Enerjisa, we are constantly reviewing our strategies with the awareness of serving in a strategically significant industry such as energy in Turkey. Furthermore, being aware of this responsibility, we consider our sustainability approach as a guide that will create value through a central and holistic perspective. SENTRUM :
Establishing a green destination model with the project, the goal of the Centre for Tourism Practices Based on Sustainable Energy (SENTRUM) project is to transform the designated destination via the energy efficiency practices; encourage sustainable tourism; increase the recruitment of women and young people in the sector; raise awareness of local people and tourism businesses on energy efficiency and use of renewable energy resources; and support local economic development.

Küçükköy, Ayvalık is the first destination designated as part of the SENTRUM project.

KOZALAK :
Enerjisa Enerji has the goal to detect forest fires early with the KOZALAK project, which is an initiative supported by Enerjisa Enerji including an early detection system for forest fires. Thanks to the KOZALAK early detection system for wildfires, which is being implemented as a pilot project within the borders of Muğla Regional Directorate of Forestry, tens-of-thousand-square-meter area will be protected against possible wildfires
