Ordinary General Assembly Meeting of Enerjisa Enerji Held

Placing sustainability to the core of its business strategy and developing projects to contribute to a smarter and greener world with a particular focus on human and technology, Enerjisa Enerji, the leading electricity distribution, retail and customer solutions company in Turkey, held its Ordinary General Assembly Meeting, in which actions related to the earthquake as well as the financial outcomes of the company in 2022, and issues related to strategies and operations were discussed.
Pioneering the energy transformation in Turkey with the vision of "a better future for all”, Enerjisa Enerji, the leading electricity distribution, retail and customer solutions company in Turkey, held its Ordinary General Assembly Meeting at Sabancı Center on March 29, 2023. During the meeting, information was provided about the activities of the company, which continued its operations in the earthquake region following the disaster that took place on February 6, and the financial, strategic and operational outcomes of the company for the past year were shared.

“Our priority was to ensure health and safety of our employees and their families in the earthquake region.”

Remarking that they were deeply saddened, as a company, by the earthquake occurred on February 6, 2023, Kıvanç Zaimler, Chairperson at Enerjisa Enerji, stated that the Toroslar electricity distribution region had operations in 5 of the cities in the earthquake region, 4,507 employees and their families were affected by the earthquake, and unfortunately 16 employees passed away.

Mentioning the actions taken in the region following the disaster, Zaimler added, “Our priority was the ensure health and safety of our employees and their families in the region, and then re-energize critical locations such as search and rescue areas, hospitals, mobile kitchens, assembly areas, etc. We dispatched and launched our ‘Disaster communication system’, developed by our R&D team in 2020. We enabled communication and coordination of the repair teams equipped with on-board radios installed on hundreds of vehicles via 3 mobile towers and the communication station mounted at higher locations and powered by solar energy.

Our support teams and equipment from other Enerjisa distribution companies, i.e., Başkent Edaş and Ayedaş, arrived at the region on their vehicles. While we continue our operations with 3,287 field employees including the support teams of Başkent Edaş and Ayedaş as well as other electricity distribution companies and contractor companies, we supplied energy to more than 14,494 tents in 143 tent cities established in Adana, Osmaniye and Gaziantep.”

“We continue to provide service in the disaster region to sustain customer services”

Stating that they re-launched 8 of the 12 Enerjisa Customer Service Centers and 27 of the 34 Enerjisa Operation Centers in the disaster region to sustain customer services, Zaimler remarked: “Temporary means of accommodation and hot meals for our employees and their families who lost their homes due to the disaster are being provided at the company facilities. A total of 660 people is accommodating in the containers and tents we established.

My thoughts and prayers are with those who lost their lives and I would also like to express my most sincere condolences to their loved ones. I also hope that the injured will get well soon. I would like to end my words with a thank you to all our colleagues who served the people and the cities affected by the disaster devotedly and under challenging conditions together with our teams, who arrived at the region for support.”
