Solution-Oriented Approach with the Automotive Industry (OEM) Partnerships

Thanks to the collaborations between the brands that sell EV in Turkey and Eşarj, the E-Mobility business partner, compatibility of your technical infrastructure with different types of charging stations at home or workplace is checked and reported in detail from the moment you purchase your car till you start driving.

What is an EV Charging Station?

It is an infrastructure element that provides electrical energy for charging the batteries of EV. EV owners need EV charging units (Eşarj) where they can fill the batteries of their vehicles.

Eşarj stations which can be used publicly are built in 81 provinces in Turkey and the number of these stations increase day by day. Moreover, Eşarj units can also be built in people's homes for individual use.

What are the Types of EV Charging Station Units?

EV charging stations, i.e., Eşarj units, have different charging types. Two different grid circuits are used with charging stations: Alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC).

1. Alternating current (AC):

Although AC mains, including standard household sockets, are the cheapest way to charge an EV, this process takes a long time. In AC-type charging stations, AC from the grid circuit is converted to DC with the help of a converter built on the vehicle and transmitted to the battery. However, in AC networks, the charging speed varies depending on the output power of the station and the capacity of the converter in the vehicle.

Having more than one and different electric vehicle users; You can have shared-use charging units installed in your institution, construction project, site or apartment. Electric vehicle owners can charge their vehicles in these special units with Eşarj cards provided by your management.

2. Direct current (DC):

DC stations, also known as high-speed charging stations, can perform a full charge in 1-4 hours. This period varies according to the capacity of the vehicle's battery and DC charging power. The AC in the grid circuit is converted to DC on the station and transmitted to the vehicle’s battery.

Why Should I Use EV Charging Station (Eşarj)?

There are several advantages to using an electric charging station.

The most fundamental solution to prevent global climate change is to end fossil fuel utilisation. The whole world is endeavouring to prevent climate crisis and environment pollution due to fossil fuels.

That is why electric and hybrid vehicles are becoming increasingly widespread. Moreover, EVs become increasingly popular with low fuel and maintenance costs and high efficiency levels.

With the expanding use of EVs, while the first question that comes to mind is "How can I charge my electric vehicle?", electric charging stations give us the exact answer to this question. While an internal-combustion car requires a gas station, EVs require charging stations.

In order for an EV to travel a distance of 150 km, the car must be charged at AC stations for 2-6 hours depending on the brand and model. However, this period can be shortened up to 20-30 minutes with DC fast charging stations. Fast charging stations, particularly built for long distances, gives the opportunity to charge up to 80% in a short time. The charging time of EVs varies according to the battery capacity of the vehicle and its AC/DC charging power, and the power of the station you are connected to.

What is I-REC Certificate?

Enerjisa gets an I-REC certification for the energy consumed at all of its publicly available EV charging stations. I-REC (International Renewable Energy Certificate) is an international certificate and documents the energy used is generated in wind and solar energy power plants. The electrical energy consumed in Eşarj stations is supplied from the energy generated at wind and solar energy power plants registered to IREC programme in Turkey. One of the most debated issues regarding the environmental impact of electric vehicles is the source of electricity. Thanks to the I-REC certification system, zero emission from the resource to the wheel becomes possible. All publicly available Eşarj stations of Enerjisa are certified with the I-REC certificate. For Personal Eşarj stations, users can be provided I-REC certificates upon request.

Having more than one and different electric vehicle users; You can have shared-use charging units installed in your institution, construction project, site or apartment. Electric vehicle owners can charge their vehicles in these special units with Eşarj cards provided by your management.

3 Reasons to Build Electrical Charging (Eşarj) Stations

1. Environmentally Friendly

Eşarj stations and EVs are investments in a sustainable future. They reduce dependence on fossil fuels and help prevent environment pollution. Eşarj stations document the resource of energy with the I-REC Certificate system and benefit from the sustainable energy resources. Eşarj stations contribute to preventing global warming and climate crisis.

2. Efficiency

Eşarj stations use energy in the most efficient way. They minimise the loss of energy.

3. Fuel and Maintenance Cost Economy

You economise on fuel and maintenance costs with the Eşarj stations as from the very first day. Eşarj stations invest in a sustainable future and enables you to save continuously. Considering that a passenger car travels an average of 30,000-40,000 km per annum and the models of EVs in the market, driving EVs can enable saving up to 70-80% in fuel consumption.
