Enerjisa Enerji Secures USD 207 Million 7-Year Financing from EBRD for Electricity Distribution Investments

Enerjisa Enerji, Türkiye’s leading electricity distribution and retail company pioneering the country’s energy transition, has strengthened its long-standing cooperation with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) through a new financing agreement. The loan, provided in Turkish lira equivalent of USD 207 million with a 7-year tenor, will be used for investments for the development and modernisation of the electricity distribution networks across Enerjisa Enerji’s three electricity distribution regions: Başkent, AYEDAŞ and Toroslar.

With the vision of a better future for all, Enerjisa Enerji, aiming to spearhead Türkiye’s energy transition, has signed a new loan agreement with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) for a Turkish lira amount equivalent of USD 207 million. Providing electricity distribution services to more than 22 million users across 14 provinces in Türkiye, the company prepares its distribution grids for the demands of the future through the new financing.

EBRD Secures First European Fund for Sustainable Development + Support for the Electricity Distribution Sector in Türkiye for Enerjisa Enerji Loan

The long-standing cooperation between Enerjisa Enerji and EBRD has been taken to the next level, as. the new financing will benefit from the support of the European Union’s European Fund for Sustainable Development + Hi Bar Gurantee Programme (EFSD+). The guarantee provided under EFSD+ will mark the first EFSD+ support for a loan extended through EBRD in Türkiye’s electricity distribution sector.

At the signing ceremony held as part of the agreement, Enerjisa Enerji CFO Philipp Ulbrich and Treasury, Risk and Tax Director Cem Gökmen Gökkaya came together with Elisabetta Falcetti and Şule Kılıç on behalf of EBRD.

Commenting on the agreement, Enerjisa Enerji CEO Oğuzhan Özsürekci said:
