"Enerjimi Koruyorum" (I Protect My Energy), the theater play of Enerjisa Enerji, reached over 3,000 children in Hatay

Pioneering the energy transformation in Türkiye with its vision of "a better future for all,” Enerjisa Enerji has established a comprehensive effort to enhance its social-oriented projects by fostering the energy awareness of children, the builders of tomorrow.

The social responsibility project, "I Protect My Energy," which has successfully raised awareness of approximately 400,000 children on energy conservation and efficiency throughout the preceding 16 years, was staged for children in Hatay, incorporating a script that was reformulated under the direction of child development experts to address present-day requirements.

Over 3,000 children in five districts in Hatay get the opportunity to watch a theater play

Throughout the summer tour conducted from August 24 through August 28, which was facilitated by the Hatay Metropolitan Municipality's mobile theater vehicle, the unifying and educational influence of theater was extended to five districts in Hatay, including Iskenderun, Arsuz, Yayladağ, Samandağ, and Defne. The project, which featured performances conducted across these districts throughout five days, reached over 3,000 children, enabling them to explore energy efficiency and sustainable living practices through an entertaining narrative.

The revised script, depicting the transformation of childhood experiences in the digitally advancing world, extends beyond simply illustrating optimal resource management and renewable energy potential, and concurrently underscores the significance of outdoor play among peers in contrast to extended periods of screen-based activities. The goal of the plays staged across five distinct venues throughout Hatay was to facilitate children in maintaining their inherent energy whilst simultaneously providing an engaging and instructive experience to be shared among their peers.

Underlining the significance of the theater play and evaluating the summer tour which attracted significant interest in Hatay, Ebru Taşcıoğlu, Head of Sustainability and Corporate Capabilities at Enerjisa Enerji, stated: “For 16 years, through the ‘Enerjimi Koruyorum’ (I Protect My Energy) project, we have been supporting children raise awareness on energy and the environment at an early age. Therefore, bringing our revised play to children in Hatay was so incredibly meaningful for us. Throughout those five days, we were part of their enthusiasm, curiosity, and happiness.
