In addition to the wholesale trading of electricity, company offers tailor-made trading products to energy-intensive customers. The Company also offers structured products to other market participants through balancing services and market access. Opportunities to import and export electricity are also carried out under the wholesale license. The Company is actively engaging in cross-border trading activities with Bulgaria and Greece, while evaluating further cross-border opportunities targeting to become a regional player. The Company is also involved in the carbon market via carbon credit development and sale of certified carbon credits Enerjisa renewable energy power plants.
Enerjisa Electricity Wholesale and Trading Company furthermore fulfills the role of group optimizer, managing optimally power and gas (through Enerjisa Natural Gas Wholesale Company) sales and procurement activities to optimize value. In this respect in addition to wholesale and trading activities, Enerjisa Electricity Wholesale and Trading Company provides consultancy services to the other Enerjisa companies. It advises on operations in the balancing market, power plant optimization and customer relationship management.
In an effort to secure the supply of natural gas and other fuels in a cost effective manner for the long-term, Enerjisa Electricity Wholesale and Trading Company and Enerjisa Natural Gas Wholesale Company act as a consultant to Enerjisa companies on supply contracts of natural gas and other fuels for current and prospective power plants, fuel procurement strategies in the medium and long-term, establishment of fuel optimization systems and management of risk related to these systems. Enerjisa Natural Gas Wholesale Company was founded in 2004 to achieve those targets. It started its operations by gathering the required licenses for supplying natural gas to Enerjisa natural gas power plants and primarily optimizing their consumption as well as benefiting from new business opportunities emerging with the liberalization of natural gas market. It has acquired the right to import Spot LNG by taking the license for ten years from EMRA as of 2010.
